Vovinam People's Public Security team won the Gold Medal at the 2024 National Strong Team Championship

After 4 days of fierce and exciting competition, on the afternoon of April 22, 2024, the 15th National Vovinam Strong Team Championship in 2024, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Gia Lai province in coordination with The Department of Physical Training and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, closed the organization and awarded prizes and medals to teams and athletes with good achievements. In particular, the Vovinam People's Public Security Team excellently won 2 Gold medals, 1 Bronze medal and ranked 7th out of 32 participating delegations.

2 Gold medals were awarded to athlete Le Anh Thu, female 70kg weight class; Athlete Nguyen Manh Cuong, men's 77kg weight class and the Bronze medal was awarded to athlete Nguyen Tien Loc, men's 72kg weight class. This is the best achievement that the Vovinam People's Public Security Team has achieved in tournaments so far.

Athlete Le Anh Thu - Vovinam People's Public Security team won the Gold medal in the women's 70kg weight category.

Athlete Le Anh Thu shared: "I myself practiced traditional martial arts for 7 years, then switched to practicing Vovinam for more than 1 year. Even though I used to compete in the national tournament, I also encountered a lot of pressure at this tournament. But thanks to the encouragement of the Coaching Board, family and teammates, I am determined and try my best to assert myself, not disappointing everyone's expectations." 

The 77kg weight class final match between Nguyen Manh Cuong and athletes from Quang Ngai Team is the last match of the tournament. With the enthusiastic cheers of the audience, Cuong showed his bravery, fought strongly, was sharp in every attack and won with an absolute score. Cuong said: "I have been studying Vovinam martial arts for 5 years. Daily practice not only helps me improve my health but also strengthens my will and refreshes my spirit. The tournament is an opportunity for us to compete and compete with athletes from strong teams across the country. We will continue to train and strive for higher achievements in the future."

Including many strong teams such as: TP. Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa... With 12 participating athletes, including 7 men and 5 women, competing in many different weight categories, the team overcame difficulties in numbers, strengths, and competition talents. of athletes to achieve the best results, improve confidence in competing in the next tournaments, contributing to the development of Vovinam martial arts in particular and high-performance sports in the People's Police in general./ .
